viva foundation are making plans for

FIESTAVAL SOUTHPORT 2023

The North's biggest celebration of Latin American Music & Culture

The traditional Mexican dance displays were a delight, the live Latin music sizzling; the atmosphere electric, and the Latin American crafts and Peruvian food sensational. Fiestaval Southport 2022 was a huge success for the festival organiser Irma Mejia of Viva Foundation and for all of the Latin American Community, Artists, dancers, local residents and members of the public who came together from various parts of the UK to celebrate UN World Day for Cultural Diversity and enjoy a full day of Latin American entertainment, dance shows, workshops, food, arts and live Latin music from Chile, Cuba, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Dominican Republic, and the Caribbean.

The festival aims to provide a platform for emerging UK Latin American talent and this year’s Fiestaval featured a debut performance from Liverpool’s very own “Son De Cuba” band and Preston’s Calypso Steel Drum Band along with performances from the Colibri Mexican Dance UK, Mestisa Leeds, July Julay and more. Viva Foundation hopes that Fiestaval Southport will continue to grow to allow for the inclusion of national and international Latin acts and they will continue to work alongside the Fiestaval planning team to ensure that Fiestaval Southport returns in 2023 and reaches out to international festival goers, our local residents and the wider Liverpool City Regions Latin American community, the largest outside of London.

Plans are already underway for next year's event, along with a series of mini live Latin music and dance events featuring the artists from Fiestaval Southport to be held in the run up to next year’s Fiestaval Southport 2023 event.

I am truly delighted with the outcome of Fiestaval. We were able to deliver what we promised on a very tight budget and the good will of our talented artists and the wonderful people who supported the event. We hope to be back next year, bigger and stronger for Fiestaval Southport 2023. Viva Foundation
